THERE is no doubt in my mind that everything is being done to keep Covid (note the capital C) at the top of people’s thoughts. Covid does appear to have gained some special virus status. Poor old pneumonia, or flu for instance don’t appear to be granted the blessing of a capital letter?
Every mention of ‘C’ovid in the press or on NHS sites cite the virus with a big capital C. In fact. the entire word is often printed in capital letters – next thing it will be in the New Year’s Honour’s list for being the highest serving global virus. A strange honour indeed, though the irony is not lost.
Now, we have ‘Covid Sense’.
Why ‘Covid sense’?- Surely this is just plain old Common sense? If the public are so naive, then why not a mass campaign of ‘Flu sense’ and ‘Norovirus sense’… ‘Common cold sense’ even. If you’re not well, stay home and don’t spread it. All viruses are contagious and, having lived through two years of forced isolation whether with or without actual symptoms, surely to heck people have got the gist?
And it goes on…
So when I was sick three times in the night and have legs like jelly, I might just think it’s not sensible to visit Auntie Jean in hospital. COMMON sense…. Not Covid sense? Is this really worth the expense of a marketing campaign to tell us what is blindingly obvious to most, but rebrand the obvious as Covid sense?
The last share really jars with me the most though…
They kept people indoors. They limited outdoor activity to one hour a day. They put every face behind a mask and stifled natural breathing. Opening windows behind imprisoned doors is not a ‘breath of fresh air’.
I long for the day we have ‘Eat Healthier Sense’, or ‘Get More Exercise Sense’ but it seems for now we’re sacrificing healthcare at the expense of continued mass marketing and Covid related messages – all these campaigns cost!
Heaven forbid, we might all just have some common sense. I’m not sure that is what’s really behind the agenda though…
Brilliant article -thank you for saying what we are all thinking!
common sense began dying in the eightees, and finally passed around the mid 2000's, to be replaced with needy wannabee greedy woke libturd appeasers
