Are the "people and the streets of Great Britain safer" now Jones, Amesbury and Edwards are free and Connolly remains in prison?
There was no incitement to violence from Connolly – but an explicit verbal call to do harm from Jones. Is Starmer 'across this detail'?
COMMENT By Gary Chappell
RICKY JONES is today walking free on the streets of Britain. In August 2024, he explicitly called for violence against the so-called “far right” saying: “We need to cut their throats and get rid of them all.”
This, it can be argued, was incited by Keir Starmer’s repeated blaming of the “far right”, which led to thousands of people lining the streets ready for a fight and, as we have shown, people calling for throats to be cut. In a recent report, police found there were no links to any far right movement in those protests.
While it is true that Labour councillor Jones (below making a throat cut gesture) is on bail, due for a court appearance in August, he remains a free man today.
Lucy Connolly remains in prison, having this week had her appeal rejected, for publishing a social media post in the wake of the Southport murders of three children which, in part, read: “Set fire to all the fucking hotels full of the bastards for all I care, while you’re at it take the treacherous government and politicians with them.”
