ED MILIBAND says Net Zero initiatives are ‘unstoppable’ and ‘the economic opportunity of our time.’ Concerned citizens might be behind him but corruption is rife in the green energy market. The unscrupulous, including the Italian Mafia, perceive the climate finance ‘economic opportunity’ as easy money.

In October, a shocking Oxfam report said that nearly 40 per cent of all climate funds disbursed by the World Bank, whose job it is to distribute global climate finance, is unaccounted for.

In cold, hard cash, that is almost $41billion.

From 2009, developed nations have contributed around $100bn per year to the green energy cause, much of which has gone missing. Oxfam’s audit of the World Bank’s 2017-2023 climate finance portfolio found that between £24bn and $41bn went unaccounted for.
