FAT TO SKINNY – JUST TAKE THE JAB...
Whoop whoop for Big Pharma, once again... who could have foreseen this development?
COMMENT By Alice Jones
IN Western society, it seems nothing beats the quick fix. The idea of taking time and effort to achieve anything is becoming null and void as almost everything we do happens faster and faster.
Remember the days when it took eight weeks to watch a TV series and we had no choice but to wait for the cliffhanger ending of episode one to find out what happens next? Not now. It’s an eight-hour binge over a lazy weekend on the sofa for many – then on to the next one. Everything is moving at the speed of light and, as it does, it’s accepted as the new norm, bringing frustration and entitled agitation when anything other than instant gratification isn’t forthcoming.
As for obesity and the struggle with weight loss, it’s been an escalating situation globally for years.
Why? Because people are surrounded by processed and ultra-processed food leading to sugar/fat/additives addictions plus an increasing array of fast-food outlets and personal delivery options, which mean people don’t even have to leave the sofa to gain access to food.
