Reiner Fuellmich, the German attorney who took on giants such as Deutsche Bank and Volkswagen, was last week sentenced to nearly four years in prison for embezzlement.
But perhaps his ‘real crime’ was challenging a narrative that was never supposed to be questioned. From the beginning of the global response to Covid, Fuellmich asked uncomfortable but necessary questions about government overreach, pharmaceutical influence and the real toll of lockdowns. He did what journalists and lawmakers failed to do.
