The sure and sinister move of propaganda through 'innocent' TV programmes via our living rooms and straight into our minds

I WAS watching TV the other night. Gogglebox to be exact. Actually, let me tell the truth for fear of being ridiculed; the TV was on with Gogglebox showing and I was in the room working.

There is a wider point, of course. While working, my ears were pricked by the sound of the name ‘Lee Anderson’ being repeatedly trotted out from said TV.

The picture flicked from house to house, with each pair on the programme doing their best to stick the boot in to what they called ‘hate speech’ and ‘racism’ and how Lee Anderson deserved this punishment, that punishment and the other.
