Will the UK audit their own aid departments?
Why US taxpayers are angry and horrified at misuse of their money
Interview by Jasmine Birtles
The new Department of Government Efficiency [DOGE] in the USA has uncovered astounding gifts of millions and even billions going to all sorts of weird and wonderful projects around the world.
American taxpayers have responded with horror and anger at the waste of their money revealed by DOGE, which is headed by Elon Musk.
Now the question is whether other countries like the UK will follow suit and do an audit of their own aid departments and see if the projects they have been funding are in line with what taxpayers here are happy with.
In this podcast, Cameron Parry, CEO and founder of TallyMoney and supporter of News Uncut, talks about how that department was able to send out billions of dollars to ridiculous and dangerous projects around the world because the money-printing machines were working overtime.
Parry argues that, if they could not print the money, they would have to think carefully about where they spend it. Asset-backed currencies make governments honest.
