It's the wrong time of year for flu. If it is either the BA.4 or BA.5 Omicron sub-variant this would be bad news. Both strains are not only highly contagious but also more virulent than other Omicron offspring, able to penetrate the lungs in the same way as the original Wuhan and Delta viruses which caused so much havoc.
