With food shortages/food inflation and the increase in gas/electricity costs, public awareness will increase rapidly starting 1st April. I believe there will be large demonstrations which will alter the direct of “net zero”.
If The farmers can be reasonable with their prices I am sure that there is a large group of people in the Daventry area (and any area) that would sign a contract with the farmers guaranteeing a fair price to sell direct to us in bulk. Thereby cutting out the chain supermarkets that squeeze and squeeze the farmers. As for fertilizers, use natural stuff like leaves, look to permaculture for answers.
Every crevice in life is being invaded. Self-sufficiency is common sense and the cheapest way to feed us but the government would rather plant solar panels in the name of the mythical net zero
Why don't people just plant seeds/potatoes/berry bushes on any land near where they are? I think it is called guerilla gardening, and I first read about it when people started planting on grass verges in Los Angeles, in parts of the city known as food deserts because the only available source of 'nutrition' was fast food outlets. There is nothing stopping you from doing this apart from habit. Much of it won't survive, and much will be eaten by someone other than you, but so what? Some will make it, and it will reduce pressure on the food supply network as a whole, so why not utilise any likely green space you can find?
Let them eat cake!

We can't just sit down and take this crisis after crisis by design. When do we turn to action?
