The reality is Russia tried to avoid the conflict in Ukraine for years despite DC's orchestrating the coup in 2014 amid the slaughter of ethnic Russian civilians by the ethnically hateful authoritarians DC installed in Kiev, killing which continued thereafter. Make no mistake, DC doesn't care at all about the Ukrainian people it is using them to try and destroy Putin, which is failing miserably. All because of DC's demented hatred of Putin who simply won't bend a knee and allow the West to dictate how Russians live their lives. Since collapse of the Soviet Union Russia has welcomed mutually beneficial association with the west but not domination. In other words they have behaved like normal mentally healthy people.
